As the United States drifts towards the conclusion of the disputed 2020 presidential campaign, Joe Biden’s physician, Kevin O’ Connor has remained out of the eye of the public. O’Connor issued a report of his examination of the former vice-president in 2019, a year prior to the presidential election. He reemerged several months ago with a statement that both Mr. and Mrs. Biden tested negatively for the corona virus.
In 2017 O’Connor joined the George Washington Faculty Association as Director of Executive Medicine. He serves a Medical Director of International & Diplomatic Affairs at the George Washington University School of Medicine and as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the school.
He attended college on an Army ROTC scholarship and was a student at the New York Institute of Technology. Subsequently, this physician complete his medical degree at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1992. A residency in Family Medicine at The Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, New Jersey followed. He is board certified in Family Medicine.
Twenty years as an US Army physician followed. His military career included combat missions with the 82nd Airborne Division in Iraq and Afghanistan. It concluded with an eight year tour as personal physician to Vice President Joe Biden. Since the tenure of Al Gore, the White House Medical Unit has assigned one of its members to provide exclusive medical care to the vice president and his family.
At this time it is not known whether Dr. O’Connor will continue his medical care for the Biden family.
